This way, new screens can be created in a very short period of time – and people won’t even notice it’s a wireframe, as it’s an exact copy of the application itself. For instance, we’ve created a CakeMail library that contains most of the design elements we need, like popups, buttons, titles, links and so on. If you have good Axure skills, you can produce extremely precise wireframes in no time, using homemade librairies of your product. The designer will also put his personal vision of the feature in the mockup – and that’s ok. As soon as we are happy with the feature, the designer comes in, and creates the design in Photoshop or Fireworks. From there, several iterations are made on the prototype – as much as necessary. We simply share our comments by email most of the time, in a Basecamp project (their new version is great) or if necessary, in a Google Doc. We don’t use the commenting feature of Axure Share – it’s not convenient at all. I prefer Axure over other wireframing tools because it’s so easy to create a working prototype in minutes, with on-mouse events, keyboard validation and multiples states on each page.Īs soon as we have a working prototype, wireframes are uploaded on, letting teamates review the prototype and make comments.

Wireframes usually start as hand-drawn scribbles and end up as a full wireframe done with the fantastic Axure app. WireframesĮvery feature we add starts with a wireframe, or a mockup depending on the situation.
They just know that every week or so we make changes to the platform, and every two months, big new features are available. We don’t want to commit to a date, and we don’t want to over-excite our customers. We try to stay agile as much as possible. We know where we are going in terms of product strategy – but the priority for developing new features can change at any time. Contrary to most companies, this roadmap is not set in stone for a given period of time. Of course, we also have a product roadmap. Even though we happen to say no often (as you should – saying no is a powerful thing), if the idea is often requested, it might have a good chance of being put into the product. We also listen to our customers as much as possible. Anyone can come up with a good idea – and if it’s a good one, it will be implemented in the product.

On the target computer, double-click the zip file to expand it, then double-click the resulting "tyset" file to re-import the set in Typinator.In traditional workplaces, ideas that don’t come from the product manager are not typically taken into account. Transfer that file to the target computer. To make sure that the internal folder structure remains intact, we recommend that you compress the set with the File>Compress command in the Finder. Typinator sets appear as files with the extension "tyset", but they are actually folders. You can use the Export command from the Typinator menu, but you can also drag the set from the Typinator window into a Finder folder.

If you wish to use Typinator on more than one computer, we suggest using Dropbox for sharing your abbreviation sets among the computers. To quickly open the Library folder, open the Finder's "Go" menu, then press the option/alt key (⌥), and the item "Library" appears in the menu. Hint: In the default configuration, Typinator stores the Sets folder in the Library folder, which may be invisible on your computer.
Typinator markdown Offline#
Important Notice: For a reliable synchronization with Dropbox it's important that the Sets Folder is set as "Make offline available" on every Mac (right click on your sets folder in your Dropbox and select "Make offline available").
For more information, see the section "The Sets folder" in the Typinator user's Guide. You can also store the Sets folder on Dropbox to automatically synchronize it between multiple Macs. Copy this folder to the same location on the other computer, then choose this folder as the "Sets folder" in Typinator's preferences.
To move all your abbreviations from one Mac to another one (for example, when you replace an older Mac with a new model), transfer your sets folder to the new computer.Ĭheck the path of the "Sets folder" in Typinator's preferences.
